Untitled Intaglio Etching Untitled Aquatint & Dry-point (center plate) Intaglio Etching (bones and feathers) My most recent work exposes my obsession with collecting and organizing artifacts found in the wild. I am intrinsically drawn to the duality of life and death present in nature and I hope to encourage a recollection of our bond to this inescapable cycle. The taxonomy and arranging of these relics is a personal ritual that I uphold to be both scared and evocative. By etching, carving and reproducing these reclaimed remains, I hope to preserve their undying spirit. I aim to invoke deep reverence and respect for our too often forgot ecological relationships with our plant and animal kin. @vanessajobahr |
